About U&I-RISE

U&I-RISE is an acronym for Unapparencies & Intra-Racial Insight Sensitivity Education. 

Unapparencies are things / conditions that are not apparent, hidden, not easily seen. Intra-Racial means within the race. Insight means the ability to understand people & situations in a very clear way. Sensitivity means awareness, empathy, & consideration. Education is a process that equips a student to meet the challenges and solve the problems that affect a people.

 We solve Black American problems at school, work, and in the community - basically, anywhere Black people gather to work, accomplish our goals, and get things done. 

The reason we focus on Black people's problems specifically, is because of our awareness and understanding of - and deep respect for - the many ways the impact of historically-documented, unhealed, multigenerational trauma evidences itself in Black people, families, and communities in America.

In other words, any people who have been through what our people have been through would have the kinds of challenges we have.

The solutions we offer help participants identify and minimize their own conditioned shame and/or disdain, and "grow a heart" for Black people's understandable condition, making it more likely they will see value in investing themselves in solving the problems that keep their group from meeting their goals.

We offer 3 main trainings for adults whose lives and/or work deal with majority Black people: 

1. Tapping Our Parental Power for parents
2. FLARES Comprehensive Classroom Management for Urban Schoolteachers, and
3. U&I-RISE Training for Businesses, Institutions, and Organizations (BIOs) who serve, and/or are in the Black community
